President's Letter

Hello,

Whether you are returning or a new member of the Leawood Family, Welcome!

On behalf of the Leawood PTO Board, We would like to take this opportunity to introduce ourselves for the 2021-2022 school year. My name is Jenny Pinkel, and I have been involved with the PTO for four years. My two sons, Bradley and Grant , are in 4th and 2nd grade. I truly enjoy being a part of his journey at Leawood Elementary.

My name is Kylee Fishwick, and I have been involved with the PTO for six years. My youngest daughter, Erin, is in 3rd grade. I have two more girls at Leawood Middle.

We would like to thank our fellow Board Members for dedicating their time and service to ensuring we have a successful and exciting year.

Thank you to Mrs. Hayes, Mrs. Donnelly and all of the faculty and staff, the present and previous Committee Chairs, Co-Chairs and all of the parents who volunteer your time. We couldn’t do what we do without your support. Throughout the year we sponsor many fun activities for our children. We encourage you to get involved and share ideas. Your participation is critical to the sustained success of our organization.

In order to support the PTO make sure you have done 2 important things:

New families need to register on www.leawoodleopards.com. This will make sure you are part of the school directory and all PTO communications. Registering will also allow us to approve you on our https://www.facebook.com/groups/LeawoodLeopards facebook page.

Support the PTO by paying the $55 PTO membership fee.

PTO funds support teacher curriculum, school grants, special program development, yearbooks, field trips and many fun things that just make Leawood Elementary an awesome place. In the past few years, we have purchased the Gaga Ball Pit, Basketball Goals, Playground Benches, Water Bottle Fill Station, iPads for Art, Math Games, KC Symphony Field Trips, Flexible Seating, Outdoor Classroom and more.

During this school year, the PTO will continue to support our school community. As we safely can, we will host events and fundraisers that have been successful in the past. They might look a little different, but with your help and flexibility we are committed to making this a wonderful year for our school. A few things coming soon:

New Spirit Wear! Including LES face masks for kids and adults
Information about Fundraisers: Catwalk, Book Fair, Penguin Patch and more
First PTO Meeting is scheduled for September 14th @ 6:00

We will need to all work together to get through this next year to make this a success. We have an incredible school community because of our families, students, teachers and staff!
